Conference “Recent Developments in String Theory”
Description
The aim of this conference is to discuss recent developments in string theory. The dominant topic in string theory in the past decade has been the AdS/CFT correspondence. It relates string theory on an anti de Sitter (AdS) background to a quantum gauge theory living on the boundary of AdS. Among other things this has led to deep new insights into the structure of strongly coupled gauge theories. We want to bring some of the proponents of these important developments together, in order to sketch promising research directions for the future, and initiate new collaborations.
